About

Bristol-born and London-based saxophonist, Theo Erskine is a powerful player on the British Jazz scene, having played and collaborated with an eclectic group of musicians over his tenure. Audience members will know Theo for his muscular tone and uncompromising solos on both alto and tenor.

Early in his career, Theo was an active member of Oscar Jerome’s band, touring extensively and recording with the group. His explosive solos turned heads. Being in Oscar’s band led to him playing with musicans such as Moses Boyd, Ruben James, Joe Armon Jones, Sheila Mauice-Grey and many more.

Currently, Theo performs regularly with trumpet star Mark Kavuma and his ensemble The Banger Factory. He has joined forces with Kavuma on his highly acclaimed label Banger Factory Records.

Alongside performing, Theo spends much of his time at his hill-side recording studio in South London which has been likened to Rudy van Gelders “Hackensack” studio. Warriors, the most recent album from Banger Factory Records was recorded there and many more BFR projects awaiting release have been engineered and produced by Theo.

Theo recorded Raffy Bushman’s albums Beginners Minds and Silver Lines at his studio and continues to help other artists to pursue their visions by working with them as an engineer, producer and saxophone player.
